Raleigh County Parks and Recreation with WVU-4H announce “Healthrocks!” and “S.T.E.M.”

Beckley, WV; July 30, 2021 – Raleigh County Parks and Recreation and WVU-4H are announcing two activities open to the public called “Healthrocks!” and “S.T.E.M.” at Dry Hill Prosperity Community Park.

HealthRocks! will be held on August 3, 2021 from 6pm-7pm EST in Dry Hill Prosperity Community Center. It is an engaging program to bring awareness to youth about addictions. They will learn about substance misuse and participate in fun activities to better understand the topic and gain ideas for how to avoid these risky behaviors.

S.T.E.M.! will be held on August 17, 2021 from 6pm-7pm EST at Dry Hill Prosperity Community Center. The STEM lessons and activities provide hands-on, minds-on learning. Participants will engage in learning the concepts of a science, technology, engineering, and mathematical situation, then form a hypothesis, make predictions, and finally experiment. They will be able to keep materials used at the event.

These are great events for families to come and learn and have fun. These events are FREE and all ages are welcome.

Both programs will be at Dry Hill Prosperity Community Park in the Community Center, 191 Mollohan Dr. Beckley, WV 25801.
