Lake Stephens announce “Campfire Stories” Series

Raleigh County Parks and Recreation, Lake Stephens are announcing the “Campfire Stories” series , themed readings from various children’s literature along with informational talks and activities for attendees.

The series features themed events taking place on the beach of Lake Stephens, after normal beach hours, beginning at 8:30pm on certain dates. The events are free and available to the general public. Campfire Stories are scheduled for around 2 hours; featuring a provided enclosed campfire to heighten the ambiance of our stories.

Campfire Stories for 2021 are as follows:
July 9th
– “Shark Party”, attendees can expect a story reading, surprise “Shark” guests, campfire on the beach, information on Sharks and/or themed activities.
July 22nd

– “Pirate Party”, attendees can expect a story reading by a pirate, campfire on the beach, information on Pirates and/or themed activities which include treasure.
August 13th

– “Luau Party”, attendees can expect a story reading, drum and dancing demonstration, campfire on the beach, information on Hawaii and traditional Luau and/or themed activities.

Events will be held at 1400 Lake Stephens Road, Surveyor; on the beach located at the recreation area. This is a great event for families to come and learn and have fun; enjoying stories and simple activities at Lake Stephens.
