Last evening a call came in for a missing swimmer at Lake Stephens. Lake Staff, Raleigh County Sheriff Department, WV DNR, Jan Care, and Trap Hill Fire Rescue Dive Team responded. The individual was not found last night. The search continued today with additional resources from Beaver Dive Team, and others. A body was found that is believed to be the missing individual but is not yet confirmed. The Raleigh County Sheriff Department is the lead on this incident. At this time there is no other information.

The identity of drowning victim has been confirmed by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s office on Friday to be the missing swimmer, Jaiquann Frazier 24, out of Gauley Bridge, WV. The body has been sent to WV Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for autopsy. The Raleigh County Sherriff’s Detective Bureau is investigating, however at this time no foul play is suspected. This incident happened in a secluded cove and the victim was not wearing a life jacket.
